Carnival Magic – Last Chance to Sail from Galveston

carnival-cozumel-300The newly refurbished Carnival Magic (see our article about the ship’s recent updates) will be changing home ports soon. After the ship’s April 10th cruise from Galveston, the Magic will move to its new home at Port Canaveral.

Carnival Magic Undergoing Refurbishment

Magic300The Carnival Magic is currently in dry dock, undergoing a multi-million dollar set of renovations. The purpose of the dry dock visit is to add a selection of new restaurants and bars. New additions include three restaurants: a Guy’s Burger Joint (developed in partnership with Food Network star Guy Fieri); BlueIguana Cantina, a complimentary poolside Mexican eatery featuring freshly made burritos and tacos; and Pizzeria del Capitano, which will cook up hand tossed pizzas 24 hours a day. balconyThe least expensive way to cruise is usually in an inside cabin. The hierarchy of staterooms goes from Inside, to Outside, to Balcony, to Suite, with the prices increasing with each step up on the scale. There can also be multiple variations available within each stateroom class.

A balcony cabin is a nice upgrade to a tropical cruise because it allows you to open up a sliding glass door and enjoy the fresh ocean air and provides a private space to sit outside. If you tend to be a little claustrophobic, having a cabin with a balcony can make cruising more enjoyable.
