Norwegian Cruise Line is the newcomer to Galveston, Texas. NCL only has one ship cruising from Galveston, but it’s a good one! The brand new Norwegian Prima will sail regularly from Galveston beginning in December of 2023. Prima will offer 7-day cruises to Mosta Maya, Mexico; Harvest Cay, Belize (NCL’s private island); Roatan, Bay Islands; and Cozumel, Mexico.
Norwegian Prima
Norwegian Prima is the first in Norwegian Cruise Line’s new Project Leonardo Class of cruise ships.
As of late January, 2022, the Prima is still under construction but details have been released about what cruisers can expect to find aboard this brand new ship.
Ocean Boulevard – Norwegian Prima will feature a wide open air deck that wraps around the entire ship. Onada By Scarpetta, Los Lobos, and The Local Bar & Grill will be located along Ocean Boulevard. The boulevard will also be the location for interactive artwork at The Concourse, the glass-floored Oceanwalk, Indulge Outdoor Lounge (complete with hammocks and a fire pit), and the peaceful La Terrazza Lounge.
Prima Speedway – A three-level go-kart race track sits at the top of Norwegian Prima. Other cruise ships have race tracks but this is the first to offer three levels of racing fun.
The Drop & The Rush – If go-kart racing doesn’t satisfy your need for speed, try The Drop or The Rush. Both are twisty dry slides with a ten-story drop. The Drop is a single slide and The Rush is a set of duel racing slides.
Galaxy Pavilion – Virtual Reality is the name of the game at Galaxy Pavilion, where you’ll find immersive games and the first flying theater simulator at sea.
The Haven – Norwegian Prima’s luxury class accommodations. Book a suite, penthouse, or family villa in The Haven and, in addition to having a really nice place to stay during your cruse, you’ll get 24-hour butler service, concierge service, and access to the exclusive Haven Lounge & Bar and sun deck with infinity pool, outdoor sauna, and cold room.
